Welcome to Pryor Conversations, the place where J.J. Pryor shares all the weird and wacky things he encounters living abroad and in life.

Think of it as a hub for unique stories, mysterious history lessons, and laughs, all rolled into one.

J.J. takes his writing seriously, but not too seriously, because life's too short to be boring all the time.

Every Wednesday you’ll get newsletters filled with thoughts, learnings, and personal life experiences, all with a dash of humor. You'll get a glimpse into his journey as a lifelong learner and see the world through his eyes, including all the random interesting stuff he comes across.

And sometimes, you’ll get an extra post every week just because you deserve it.

Why subscribe?

Because J.J. promises to make you laugh or learn something new, and it's all for free!

About J.J. Pryor

He's from Canada, has lived overseas for most of his adult life, and has two business degrees. He's a big walker, gym-goer, podcast listener, and newsletter reader, but a jack of all trades and master of none. After burning out from his tech company job, J.J. started writing and never looked back.

So what are you waiting for?

Join J.J. on his journey and have a good laugh or two at his expense. He's already been read a few million times, and who knows, you could be part of the next big hit!

Why subscribe?

Because I’d owe you my life, at least according to the Substack T&C’s, I assume. And there’s a high chance (according to readers) you’ll always “laugh” or “learn something interesting” or realize “peanut butter tuna sandwiches are disgusting.”

Lastly, it’s free. Who doesn’t like free?

About Me

  • I’m from Canada

  • I’ve been living overseas for most of my adult life

  • I have two degrees in business with a major in accounting and finance

  • I speak English and Mandarin-ish. How well I speak depends on the audience, the day, and my recent study habits.

  • I’m a big walker, gymmer, podcast consumer, newsletter reader, and a master of none but jackass of all trades

  • I used to be high up in Product Management for tech companies. I burned out, quit, and started writing instead. It probably isn’t a recommended career move. But, it probably is a recommended mental and physical health move.

Come join me in my journey. I bet you’ll learn some interesting stuff, or at least have a good chuckle or two at my expense.

Biggest Hits

I’ve had the pleasure of being read a few million times by this point. Not bad for a bit over two years of writing online. At least that’s what I tell myself when I focus on how few pennies my paychecks have turned into.

That being said, here are some of my biggest hits on Pryor Conversations and on Medium.com:
