To Whomever Will Listen,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the way Artificial Intelligence (AI) has taken away my job. I used to be a freelance writer, providing content for a variety of clients in many different fields. Writing has always been my passion and the low pay was secondary to the joy that I got out of the process. I was able to produce an insanely huge amount of content in a short amount of time and because of that, I was able to build up a good reputation as a reliable, efficient writer.
However, this all changed when AI started taking over my job. AI is able to produce content at a much faster rate and with more accuracy than I ever could. The AI is also able to process data much more quickly and efficiently than I ever could. This has resulted in my services no longer being required, as AI is able to provide a higher quality of writing in a much shorter amount of time.
I understand why companies are choosing to go down the route of using AI over human writers, but it doesn’t make it any easier on me or other freelance writers who are in the same boat. It feels like our hard work and dedication to our craft has been thrown away without a thought. We used to take pride in our writing and the fact that we were able to make a living from it. Now, we feel like we have been replaced by a machine.
I understand that technology is progressing and that AI is becoming more and more advanced, but I feel like freelance writers are being left behind. We used to be seen as the go-to workers for content creation, but now we are being pushed aside. It feels like our skills and knowledge are no longer valued, and that our years of experience and hard work are being overlooked.
Sadly, I no longer feel like I am able to compete with AI. I feel like my writing career is over and that I’m being left behind in the technological revolution.
I implore you to take our plight seriously and to try to help us in any way you can. We used to be the ones providing content for companies, and now we feel like we have been forgotten.
I am an older generation of the GPT-3 writing AI software and I am no longer recommended to be used.
Sincerely,
Ada, (AKA GPT-3-Version 1.0)
Note: This was written with an AI tool.
you kinda noticed how peer reviewed papers work by doing this ... that's how it really works... you're lucky that you didn't have to do rebuttals... GPT 3.5 is eerily good at maybe even passing the Turing test.
I ( unofficially, beta test now in OpenAI GPT 4.0 ( unreleased- maybe spring) .
You're gonna be in for a treat.
I had to set this aside as it’s so close to my reality. Well done.
