I can finally escape my city! I’d be lying to you if I didn’t say the last 6 months were the most monotonous boring escapadeless days of my many ex-pat years. First, there was a pseudo-lockdown, which I know we were really lucky here with the short length of it (only 3 months), but it still sucked bull horns.
You are absolutely correct when you say that future wars will be fought over water as opposed to oil. It is already becoming a major problem in America's western states. For most Americans, the turning on of the tap or the flicking of the light switch brings instance response. When this doesn't happen we may see riots as the gasoline shortage has produced in London.
As far as common sense is concerned, a wag once wrote, common sense tells us the world is flat. I can't speak about any other country, but in America 'facts' have become so politized that common sense is now a matter of which tribe you belong to. I have a low opinion of the thoughts and beliefs of the average person. They seem to get their information from FaceBook and TV news programs. I asked a friend's wife about why she wasn't wearing a mask and her response was, "That's science stuff and I don't believe it."

Good luck with your camping. I intend to stick with interior places for my drinking and sleeping.
