Makes me sick as a dog. I have a severely restricted snack diet because of it. Also yeast as an additive, which is actually worse. And no, it's not all in my head. I have performed every experiment possible in the hope of once again eating Doritos. Nope. Pounding heart, diarrhea, sweating, chills.

I remember this being a big deal in the 90s? 80s? back in the UK. Less fuss now or maybe I'm not paying as much attention to tabloid rags.

I've accepted the claims that some people have allergy or addiction reactions to MSG, but never known any of those people.

The one study I read said they tried testing several people against a placebo and couldn't find any difference, but who knows if the study was large enough or had the right people etc. After writing this article, I tend to think of msg as 'salt' now, and I know several people who actively avoid it as much as possible because of side effects from eating too much.
