Many of my friends feel that raw fish is only suitable to be used as bait for fishing. When I ask them, "Have you ever tried sushi?" the answer is always no. If you won't try some type of food, how can you say you won't like it?
I must admit to some cultural preferences in my diet, but generally, I will try anything that someone else is eating. At first, the thought of your duck-egg meal turned me off, but upon reflection, I realized that I loved duck when served rare. So I guess I would like the duck-egg combo.
If I ever get to Scotland, I will definitely try haggis. After a few whiskeys, I will do many things ordinary people won't do. What were you drinking when you concocted PB&T sandwiches? or smoking?
Haha I was a broke college student quite into lifting weights at the time. Given I was already eating craploads of protein powder and milk (and how boring that was becoming) I had to find a way to include tuna, but the taste was far too dry and bland for me. So, I slapped some peanut butter (chunky of course) on it one day, toasted the bread for a change, and voila-- the PB&T was born.
What a great visual to start my day. My father taught me that when confronting food I had never eaten, I should look at other people eating the same thing. You may not like this new food, but it won't kill you.
I love raw fish, which my friends call bait, so I guess I qualify as someone who eats things that are not mainstream in the western culinary world. I'm sure that after a few bourbons, I will join you in enjoying a balut.
That sounds disgusting but then a lot of things they eat in Asia sound disgusting to me. can't be any worse than haggis. To each their own. Your emails are always a pleasant surprise to start the day. Thanks for writing.

Humans are the most oppressive and destructive species on the planet. It's not surprise you have found another way to violently exploit sentient life.
Thank you, Mr. Alien.
