Well that was depressing. We always knew the rich just get richer. Money is definitely a necessary evil.

They always find ways to benefit themselves and screw over other people.

It is good to know that you can still buy a politician. I especially like the desire of some politicians to balance the budget and cut the deficit by reducing food stamps, cutting welfare benefits, and limiting social security. The moochers receiving these benefits can do without them.

I'm not religious, but I believe in the Golden Rule - Those with the gold rule.

While America was sleeping - that is, being preoccupied with American football or who is sleeping with whom in Hollywood - a proctologist slipped in and inserted the IRS tax code into a portion of our bodies.

What a joke that you, a Canadian, are the first person I know who has written about this robbery. Many years ago, when I had hair, I taught some classes about the real estate tax code and how real estate investing could provide a good income tax shelter. The tax code has changed considerably since those days, but one thing has stayed the same - most people do NOT want to spend any time learning about the tax code.

I attended a tax seminar where the speaker, whose name I can't remember, stalked across the stage, waving a copy of the tax code. He shouted, "I keep a copy of this book by my bedside. It is my bible, which tells me how to protect my income from the tax man." Most people in the audience didn't pay attention, but I did. When I was in the real estate business, we had a copy in the office, and it made for exciting reading during TV commercials.

Thanks for updating me on this aspect of the Code; even though it doesn't pertain to me, it is still a great example of how proctologists (politicians) work.
